Jutland is divided into three regions, Funen and islands
are grouped as the fourth, and Zealand plus
Bornholm as the fth. At the beginning of each

In the guide you will nd many useful details
about each individual place of accommodation,
but it is always a good idea to check with your
hosts, whether they o er exactly, what you want,
before you book.
There are more than 2.200 private lodgings and Bed
and Breakfasts in Denmark. It is not possible for us
as editors to visit and check out all of them.

is based entirely on the host´s information to
us. We assume no responsibility for false or misleading
You nd private accommodations or Bed and Breakfasts
in private homes, which open their doors to
visitors in the area. It is not a hotel or inn, and the
standard may vary somewhat from place to place.
You can nd accommodations that o er seperate
bathrooms for each room with nice shared kitchen
or for example holiday apartments, which have a
very very high standard. You may also come across
places, where the room is in a stable wing, where
you will have to cross a yard to go to the bathroom
As a general rule, you will nd no more than one
- maximum two - bathrooms in a private home.
We thus advice you to contact the host, if you have
speci c requests.
Regardless of the standard it is almost always the
charming personal attention and special added
value, that encourages the hundreds of thousands
of visitors to stay in this type of accommodation,
and the standard is usually very high.
Many hosts o er a discount for stays exceeding
3 days. As a general rule, there are linen, towels,
breakfast (served or self served) and VAT included in
the price. But it is not always the case. So please ask
the host, when you make the booking, which services
that are in fact included in the prices.
Prices of accommodation can vary from place to
place. A higher price does not necessarily re ect

want to stay in a large city or in the countryside, in
densely populated areas with many sights and attractions
or less visited rural areas.
Booking and payment in advance
You can generally prebook your stay by contacting
the host. In some cases you will be asked to pay a
deposit when booking.
Please be aware that most hosts will ask you to pay
cash upon arrival. Few hosts accept credit cards.
In several areas in Denmark the tourist o ces receives
bookings and reservations on behalf of the
hosts, but the procedure is basically the same, as if
you contact the hosts directly.
